Muturi Coronation

Niliuliza jana na nitauliza tena.

Why are you guys so agitated over something you have dismissed as "of no consequence"?

I find so many contradictions in your rants.

Kwani Muturi and his coronators do not have a right to do what they want? Have they stolen an itaha from your gitaruru?
Muturi handed the instruments of power

I don't know why people are getting annoyed, there are more critical matters worth worrying about

We're annoyed about the blatant desecration of a culture and cultural artefacts that we revere. And all for selfish and evil machinations to legitimise a power grab.

Will the desecration affect me/us at a personal level? Probably not.

Would slaughtering pigs in a mosque in Kenya affect Muslims in Algeria at a personal level? Likewise, probably not.

It doesn't mean you should do either just to further a political cause.

They are hating on everything.

Kwa sababu wewe ni mtu umesoma, I'll give you some qoutes, by Edmund Burke, to mull over this weekend:

"It has been profoundly said, and how true it is, that the only thing necessary for evil to exist is for good people to remain silent... "

That's why we cannot remain silent as evil runs amok!

"Those who have been once intoxicated with power, and have derived any kind of emolument (compensation) from it, even though but for one year, can never willingly abandon it."

This one is self explanatory, the murathes of this world do not want to relinquish power !

Touché... This should end this debate.

I may not support these shananigans.

But I draw a line where the whole affair is dismissed as backward and retrogressive because it's being conducted by 'Kikuyus'.

Kutoka wakati wa Moi na even the British, the 'Gikuyu' of Mt Kenya have been demonised because they are allegedly 'tribal' and pose a threat to the state. So anything they did that seemed to make them bond together was out-lawed or ridiculed. During Moi's time, tribal elders from any community could meet, but not elders from the 'Gikuyu' lest they plotted the over-throw of the gavament the way the plotted the Mau Mau.

Muturi and his acolytes are on a fool's errand, but those crying the most tears are non-gikuyus.

WHY?
