Weekly protection fees are obligatory in the entire country for all W&S shops and entertainment venues.

Recently, I saw them drive into a big club in Nanyuki in an official Land Cruiser to collect. They sit for 5 minutes, are visited by the manager briefly, and they get up and go.

This silly quartet was trying to undercut the established collecting system.

It's an open secret. Niliona moja kubwa hapo Kasarani area being raided for failure to pay protection fees. This rot goes all the way to the top. I think even politicians are into the game. Think about it, who closes a pub at 11 pm? Who meets all the requirements for running a pub or a wines and spirits shop?

It's politicians who create loopholes used to rob Kenyans by cops.

Corruption is a national pastime, no one is doing anything about it, no pretense of working by the parastatal mandated with fighting corruption, watu ni kubywa chai, kuchambua magazetti and wait for their hefty salaries at the end of the month.
