in the headlines:

Go bring me an article within the Labour Act that supports the nonsense your spewing here. Probation period after you have been hired is not 'industrial attachment' and just because that is what has been going on it doesn't mean it's the right thing. Just lethargy and pure incompetence.
Opinion are like assholes and everyone has one, and this is yours.

I have heard this thing of 3-6 months from my Dad as well. The question is, in over 30-40 years they have never bothered to streamline that process ama shida iko wapi? Are they still using quills and ink?
The process starts at your home MDAs HR department whose role is diverse and not limited to 'only' recruitment , after listing similar documents from the recruits/cadets, they are forwarded to the relevant professional bodies/institutions. It isn't a one off procedure, after that the ministry of public service and gender issues you with an employment number, which goes to your mother ministry PS who authorizes the account department to start submitting your payment through a paypoint of your choosing.

It is very normal, I think,3 or 4 years ago some D- trainees were arraigned in court after it was found that they had used fake certificates.
On CSs or ministers as you are calling them, those are state officers and not Civil servants learn to differentiate between the two, their vetting is very public (parliament). Never seen a call for applications for those positions unlike the one for civil servants.
The Civil Service is one whether appointed or recruited. Every employee that works for the government is regulated by the same regulations and laws and are all referred to as Civil Servants.
Don't excuse poor human resource management. It is the reason the Ndegwa commission pushed for civil servants to be alllowed to own businesses which led to the rampant corruption and poor service to the citizens and the constant strikes...

3.6 The Public Service
The Public Service comprises of the civil service, teaching and
public university services, local government authorities, the
disciplined services (excluding the military), state corporations,
public institutions and Service Commissions whose salaries are
funded from the Government exchequer. The Public Service
facilitates the formulation and implementation of policies. On-
going reforms in the Public Service aim to create and maintain a
leaner, more efficient and more productive Public Service that
facilitates national development.
3.7 The Civil Service
The Civil Service is the policy implementation arm of the
Government. In executing this role, it is guided by public policy
pronouncements and the attendant development plans and
circulars.
The Civil Service is constituted by ministries. The rationale of
creating ministries such as Agriculture, Education, Finance and
Tourism is to enhance their specialization in aspects of national
development. A ministry is usually divided into headquarters and
field units.
Ministries are responsible for planning and implementing their etcetera

Ministers are part of the Civil Service

Madam naona it's that time of the month. I am out.
What they are simply asking is this, is it right to offer someone a job, ask them to report to work but deny them payment because someone was too lazy to do all that during the interview process? Is it even right to offer someone a job before you conduct all your due diligence? Whether state officer or civil servant

You have an option of refusing if you think the time is too long. It's not a must for you to be employed by GOK.

Sometimes I get worked up when I read comments describing us as bonobos..then I read threads like these. Someone is actually fucking content to tell us that new hires shouldnt be paid for 3 to 6 months while 'their qualifications are vetted'.

What utter bullshit..KNEC,CUE are governmental bodies, why would they require even a month to ascertain the veracity of a diploma? Secondly, where professional qualifications outside degrees are being checked, are we to believe bodies like ICPAK, Engineers Board, LSK, etc dont have lists of their members that they can confirm in a week or two max?

Perhaps my expectations are too lofty for the real world.

What you gonna do about it? It is what it is.

If he knew that before appending his signature to the accept offer of appointment, that's entirely between him and his employer.
But the employer lied yes? And it is because of these lies that they keep on striking ama you are the kind of persons to just accept mediocrity because it is what it is?

Proof of the lies?
Do you remember Mutahi, their boss claiming he googled about striking doctors and realised it just kenya where they were striking? Do you recall akisema no money has been stolen only to be caught flat footed? Do you recall akidanganyana about people ferrying an empty coffin...they even lied that the dead doctor alikuwa amelipwa mshahara yake by the time he died...

even lied that the dead doctor alikuwa amelipwa mshahara yake by the time he died...
The others are not relevant, hapa if they lied about that, it's a serious crime, the family should sue the people involved. I remember how his father weeper, I felt for the family.
