Expiry dates are False

BTW even apples will last a very long time kama one and a half months hivi, all you have to do is keep them in the kitchen where there is some moisture

I also have never checked. I always assume the best before date is the actual expiry date. I always fear stale food. Juzi nilikula mashakura, mutura na firifiri kukaharibika sana. Story for another day!

Do you ever buy bread? And if you do, do you ever open the packaging? If you did,you would have seen the sell by date...

kwa ile wrapper ya polythene kuna hiyo celotape ya white wanafunga nayo hali ile ya broadway au tosti the date is printed as a standalone number somewhere on the wrapper eg the bread to expire day after tomorrow may have a 29 somewhere.

Hapana,tell us vile kuliharibika. So we can critically analyse the episode of stale mashakura...

I know about "sell by" na "best before", bread has those. They are not the same as expiry!

So sometime back in Feb I discovered some unutilized shopping that I had placed somewhere and forgotten about. This includes sugar, ile ya mumias, tea and glucose, all these expired in 2020 and I have been happily consuming them this year na hazina madhara yeyote.

This drives me to declaring that expiry dates are meant to drive unnecessary consumerism. Unless there is a smell or a bad taste, don't throw things away because they have expired.

As a manufacturer it's better to err on the side of caution.
