30 July 2021. Mohamed Hersi- Bottom Up

They will start with "bottom down" like that annoying Wahome loud mouth.
This is where Ndii is having a mega challenge. The guy has camouflaged his personal interests in the bottom up model. All he wants is a civil service job and a chance to steal. He is as unprincipled as they come.
To insist that corrupt people be let go and to fail to even state where do we start the amnesty and where do we put a stop is where I realized Ndii is a base human being.
He doesn't want to see beyond getting into state house. He can't talk about holding people accountable for the period they are governing. He wants Kenyatta jailed (which is very okay) but doesn't want Ruto facing the same music.
Matters economic policy he is very good but I highly doubt his competence as an administrator and I am double sure he lacks wisdom.

When banks were busy closing branches in late 90s ostensibly to get rid of unprofitable banks in smaller towns

I recall a time when Barclay's and StanChart set Ksh. 50,000 as the minimum balance in their accounts. After a lot of hue and cry, they dropped this to Ksh. 20,000 but quietly maintained 50k as the amount that qualified to earn interest income.
They went on a spree closing branches all over. Nakumbuka wakifunga Isiolo branch na account holders wakaambiwa waende Meru town, pia wakafunga ya Limuru na kuwaambia waende Kiambu town, and many others all over the country.

For banks many had to struggle to try and get their old premises back

Kerugoya town. The spacious premises Barclay's left were promptly taken up by Family Bank. Later, the former had to squeeze themselves in a tiny kiosk adjacent to their former branch premises.

The grassroots have gotten 10 years of devolution money. Let counties show us what they have done with that money.

Most of these funds have gone into expanding county bureaucracies at the expense of service delivery. This is the one fact that many of us are ignorant about and governors are only too happy to let us wallow in our igorance.
When you interrogate some of the well intentioned policies and enforcement emanating from the controller of budget's office, you realize that in matters finances/ resources, we are trully and royally f**ked for the foreseeable future.

The next government must be radical in the anti-graft war. And I mean China-like radical. This country needs a 'Great Purge', otherwise tukiendelea hivi we'll not have a country in 15 yrs time.
I have always thought that should be the way out and such a person should stay for longer or ensure they handover to someone like them

And you wonder why the political class and their cronies have dug trenches around the presidency?

If you want a corruption-free nation where your interests are protected you are going to have to fight for it like your forefathers did, there are no superheroes to fight your battles!
