I love how Nigerian government always stands for its people. They fully apply the reciprocal relations in international affairs and are respected as an equal partner by all.
At one point I was in Accra waiting for a flight to Johannesburg. All of a sudden there were sporadic clapping sounds from a number of passengers watching news on tv. The latest news was about how South Africa government had refused Nigerian businessmen arrival visas at Oliver Tambo Airport.
One of them called his government contact person back in Abuja. The Nigeria government applied instant reciprocal response. On the same day, with immediate effect South Africans landing in Abuja and Lagos airports were sent packing back to SA.
In a panic, White Kaburu businessmen forced their government to rescind the SA no arrival visa requirement.
If it were Kenyan government, it would take over six months to retaliate (reciprocal relations) if they ever do. Kenyans faced the same fate and to this day, I have no idea how our Ministry of Foreign Affairs resolved the matter.
