On Thursday, Tharaka Nithi county governor Muthomi Njuki decided to make an impromptu visit at Chuka General Hospital undercover to inspect what always go on around the county hospital.

The governor made several rounds in the hospital unrecognized while popping into various office departments around the county government facility.

Although some hospital staff were doing their job as expected, one nurse was caught by the camera unaware while enjoying a good time on her phone as she sat not attending to various patients.

The picture which has since went viral on social media shows the lady nurse relaxed on a bench comfortably as she got lost in her mobile phone.

This has raised alot of questions on the amount of relaxation witnessed from civil servants who neglect their duties when no one is closely supervising them.

The specific nurse might find herself into problems to an extent of losing her job following that encounter with the governor for not attending her roles and responsibilities well around the hospital which is her work place.

He is not ashamed to be overseeing such a dilapidated facility?

No need to ask for findings kwa sababu huu ni upuzi. How do you judge the functioning of an institution by making a physical visit?
Eh are you serious? A big chunk of hospital is the service, the other part is the medicine.
How else was the service to be vetted?
Through account books?

How will you, as an individual, assess hundreds of workers in hundreds of places in a field you are not competent in within a few hours? There are hundreds of ways of assessing service delivery, and walking around looking like a clown is not one of them.
If short of ideas, the governor, his family, neighbors, and workers should be seeking services from that hospital so that he can gain first-hand feedback.

You can learn so much from the stats produced by hospitals and from feedback by patients, angechukua simu apigie 10 patients attended to in every department he would have plenty of info, there is no need for such pointless drama

Good points but physical visits are better. Though not for political gain but for true service delivery.
