Shimanzi industrial Area Mombasa.

Adapt.Improvise. Overcome. Times change and people should diversify their revenue streams, another industry simply took over. You can't prevent state carrying out developments projects because it might impact your industry.

I believe though the port systems should be fair and open to all business men. People should move their cargo by however means they choose. The goverment should not force people to use SGR. Once goods land in the port, people should have the free will to choose their means of transportation. I hope thats how it works.

Hata kama Uhuru amefabya KAZI,SGR ni product ya Kibaki's administration. Contract to build the SGR was signed in 2011.
Moi built the Nairobi Inland Container Depot, Eldoret ICD and Kisumu Inland Container Depot. Kibaki designed the SGR to connect the port and Nairobi ICD. Uhuru built the SGR that reduced transport of cargo between mbs port and Nairobi ICD from 48hrs to 7hrs. He also built the Naivasha ICD and extended the SGR to it. Baba will extend SGR to kisumu ICD.

I recently read the Parliamentary Committee report on the SGR contract and realized a couple of things. First, it is beyond obvious the cost was inflated but the saddest bit of it is that the government (read Uhunye) was advised to make sure that the funds for the final phase were secured before he embarked on the project. But what did our political geniuses do? Once they had their fill of kickbacks and the Mombasa to Nairobi line was done they went back to the negotiating table to get the railway to someone's shamba in Naivasha. Shortly after, the Ugandan government pulled out of their SGR contract which would have allowed goods to be delivered across borders seamlessly, thus making it a viable investment.

Muchina upon seeing that muiko had broken while cooking the ugali he decided to say the ugali was ready and he refused with money to buy a new muiko to finish the cooking.

And thus Jayden decided that if Muchina was not to give him money he would revive the rusty lunatic meter gauge line to Githumo to carry goods and omeras home even if they derail 10 times over. Similarly, when Muchina showed Jayden the panga over the billions in SGR debts he decided to force all goods onto the SGR to his gicagi in Naivasha where he could also eat and get fat.

Is this what Matiba of Kiharu... Ndindi Nyoro calls state capture?

Hehehe...doesn't it make you wonder? Raila who condemned the SGR and claimed pesa iliibiwa is now lauding it and riding up and down the meter gauge ni kama anaenda Dubai. Kama uko kwa serikali ata president akojolee peasant kichwa live on Tv you have to sugar coat it and say peasant alikuwa amedungwa na stinging nettle na mkojo husaidia kumaliza uchungu lest ujipate nje ukitangatanga.😀😀

Under the master plan, Kenya’s SGR will be extended from Naivasha to Uganda, Rwanda, South Sudan, and eventually to the Democratic Republic of Congo, while the Addis-Ababa-Djibouti railway will be extended to five other neighboring countries including Eritrea.

I have a feeling all this will be resolved with a new president. Uhuru has just made enemies with all our neighbors.

But the coast has many infrastructure investments under Uhuru. When South Coast becomes more accessible through Dongo Kundu and the Likoni Bridge, more businesses are likely to move to the SEZ in Kwale County.
