Likoni Population Growth Captured in Two Images

Moi had a chance to plan and set us up before chaotic urbanization kicked in lakini lakini he was more preoccupied with witchcraft than economics. At least according to Lee Njiru

Lack of planning is part of it.

But as I keep saying, our rate of population growth is unsustainable. No way you can keep popping out 1.5m babies each year in an economy such as Kenya and expect lifestyles to improve. People forget that for about 20 years a baby is just a shit factory that consumes and consumes endlessly spewing out just shit....

Lakini population growth has its place in keeping in check inflation. Look at sparsely populated cities in Luxembourg, Sweden etc. Their prices of basic commodities including housing is too high
But many of our younger people are unemployed. How does that help with inflation? Our elder citizen's have very Low purchasing power due to poverty. I don't see how a lowly educated, young poor population can be an economic boom. They are mostly a drain.

On the brighter side. If you have a war 🥺.

Or cottage-based industries like the Asian tiger nations which do not complain despite having a huge population. Also helps that they're able to feed themselves though
Bro, I hold your to a higher standard than the average bonobo here with the IQ of a hammer.

For the the umpteenth time, the problem is NOT a high population. The problem is a HIGH RATE OF POPULATION GROWTH.

This is why China is developing so fast - they stopped their population growth for about 30 years. TWO parents would work to benefit ONE child.

Here, ONE parent (Wafula the watchman) with a basement-level salary is working to benefit his perennially pregnant wife and 13 other children. Can't work.

For the millionth time, there is no such thing as a high rate of population growth causing poverty. There is not a single study, in the whole wide world, that definitively shows a causal link between poverty and a high population growth rate. The problem lies elsewhere, but the most convenient scapegoat is population growth. If your grandfather could take care of 10 kids to adulthood, what makes the same impossible in the present day?

I invite you to think about what happens when you have a relatively big population like the Kikuyus have had for a long time. Thanks to democracy, they have been a powerful community in Kenya. Contrast that with Kenyan of European or Asian origin. They are a small population but still powerful because of their economic might. The benefits of a large population accrue to the political leaders of a community. Mnaweza kuzaana kama panya but this only helps those telling you uzaane bila plan. On the other hand, the well off do not want to be wafuasi wa kuzaa for political reasons. They want their children to be "the leaders of tomorrow" in the true sense. They have fewer children who get better education. Those are the so called dynasties that inherit the masses that were born for political reasons.

Children of the rich (even in a 'democracy' like the US) do not get to be cannon fodder for their many wars. The Russian elite are not fighting in Ukraine. It's the 'masses' that are used as cannon fodder.

Sir, I will stay out of this one. But before I go, I want you to take all the world's nations and juxtapose their poverty rates against their population growth rates. Try to see whether there is a correlation.

If you cannot understand that at the very basic countries are made up of families, and that even at the family level a woman should not have a child every year, then sir, I need not waste my time with you.

Let me enjoy my evening....

A correlation is not a causation. High population growth rates happen to occur together with poverty; that is just a correlation, the same way, say, keg drinkers appear unkempt. It does not necessarily mean that the first causes the second, unless it can be proven.
Enjoy a fuming evening.

A high population also means high consumption of goods and services making circulation of cash flow in the economy constant. Things like FMCG and agricultural produce thrice. Value addition would also help. Leta matusi

Also the converse is true!
People YOUR age should also check out faster coz you’re also just a shit factory who contributes very little to the economy!
That would surely keep the high population growth rate in check!
