Since the beginning of history a deep rift has existed between science & religion.
Out spoken scientists such as Copernicus were murdered by the church for revealing scientific truths, religion has always persecuted science.

In the 1500's in Rome academics began meeting secretly to share their concerns about the church's inaccurate teachings. The men were enlightened minds 'Illuminati', Galileo Galilei was an Illuminatus.

Galileo's arrest by the church threw the Illuminati into upheaval, mistakes were made and the church tortured and killed four members after interrogation.
The Vatican denounced the brotherhood as Shaitan, meaning adversary.. God's adversary.
Islam was chosen for the name Shaitan because it was a language they considered dirty.

Satanists historically were educated men who stood as adversaries to the church.

Obliteration of Catholicism was the Illuminati's central covent, the brotherhood held that the superstitious dogma spewed fort by the church was mankind's greatest enemy. They feared that if religion continued to promote pious myth as absolute fact, scientific progress would halt and mankind would be doomed to an ignorant future of senseless holy wars'.

Slowly yet surely the masses wander in search of the ultimate answer.

Of what purpose do we exist to serve?

Is this the truth or it is borrowed from the Catholic Church's propaganda manual? Something along the lines of "If you want to kill a dog you first give it a bad name"?
The Enlightened, who were scholars in the professions were questioning the logic of some aspects of religion which exercised control by the dictum 'trust and obey'. The church was scared of losing the control and, I daresay, the money it was extorting from the faithful. They had to fight any contrary teaching, even creating the sin of heresy and ascribing the most shaming, cruel and debasing punishments for offenders. They even devised instruments for extractin guilty pleas by the most cruel torture.

Islam first spread through the use of sword, a Jewish country like Yemen, converted to Islam and the continuous purges against the few remaining Jews made Israel airlift them in 1968. Abrahamic religion is based on threat of violence today and in the afterlife.

Spanish inquisition and even the Catholics in France before the revolution persecuted the Protestant Huguenots in France and the Netherlands. Some of those Huguenots fled to Seuth Efrika and began calling themselves Afrikaners.

I see every reply here mentioning and targeting Catholics, Why dont you change the topic to "Catholics"? Catholics are percecuted everywhere and none mentions about it. We do many charitable work worldwide, yet no talks about them, and yet, anyone in need, I too, moreso in war torn countries, each would seek refuge to a Catholic Parish/Priest or Church, would you not discuss any 'negative' topic without mentioning Catholicism?

Your "Charity" is a tactical investment whereby you bait people to join your lies and in turn they give up their free will in the hope of false Heaven.

Those wars are fueled by the church directly or indirectly. Show me a peaceful Christian/Catholic Country I show you a Pink elephant.

the Catholic church has done and still does alot of good in the society.. but that does not mean that we should close our eyes to all the evil that it had done in the past.. or how it came to be the worlds biggest religion
