Free Phone calls in UDA goverment

I swear the media has numerous bonobos.

For those who did not bother to watch the video, DP is advocating for last mile internet connectivity. Something that I have always wondered why it was never done.

In my opinion, they can subsidize safaricom, liquid telcom, zuku or even work with KPLC to deliver fibre internet to homes in all major towns and cities. In addition to that have free wifi hubs.

That is where the free calls and internet bundles is coming from because you can use VoIP services like Whatsapp calls. My God. I really despise the media.

Thanks for clarifying.

Let me give you an example.

Before I joined campus, I used to teach myself coding at home. I remember the only way I could do this was with Airtel weekly unlimited internet that cost me kitu 100bob.

Another example, during the start of Covid, we all went to our rural home, about 7 people, and we all used to depend on a shitty telcom modem for internet. Our usage used to hit 500 shillings a day. We had to invest 100k+ to install fibre and only pay 2k a month. Because of that I was able to work online exclusively and that is how I managed to make a lot of money in such a short time.

The purpose of last mile internet, is to make it easy for people to access information. Imagine if you could watch tutorials on YouTube without worrying about bundles? Imagine how much minds would be expanded as they discover new frontiers and what is actually possible by reading new things.

All very well put.
Butis lack of internet among the most pressing issues in our country? Is it even a priority or a desperate case like hospitals?
