Floods

I totally disagree.
Beyond the current floods, aren't most of us reliant on private solutions to public problems? We have the police but we also procure the services of security companies, in municipalities that should have services such as gargabe collection, street lighting etc.. don't citizens mostly rely on their own pockets? I mean, @zapp_brannigan just stated here that they had to build a bridge. Absolutely ridiculous to even think about.. It's insane how hapless people most Kenyans feel knowing the state and even devolved units aren't concerned with real issues affecting real people.

Don't even get me started on core needs such as education and health. Laughable, but Kenya doesn't even have public road transport.

Yes, we do need to widen the tax bracket but kwa ground, vitu ni tofauti sana.

I thought everyone who buys goods and services pays some form of consumption taxes especially VAT and Excise Duty that make about 40 pc of total government revenues. I agree with the bit about the taxes being stolen by a minute minority.

To an extent the flooding you see now is because of uncollected garbage that has been swept to clog drains. And then the ubiquitous walls built across waterways. Corruption is what will kill us.
