... Remember Monday will also be a holiday due to Labour Day being on Sunday.

Utaikulia wapi bila ngata kwa ndae?

Still unnecessary. Religion = Upuss. One week ago ilikuwa Easter. Significance? Even those who call themselves Christians don't know the meaning- because they were borrowed from pagan festivals.
Must we celebrate a dead by giving a holiday? In a poor country like this, that's too many hours wasted for nothing
Fuata kitabu ya @Liberty let the dead bury their dead.

More and more countries are reducing the work week with the realization that the world is rapidly changing. Efficiency should be the key instead of having people work for long.
Truth is, our holidays are mostly enjoyed by the small percentage of employed workers with many businesses operating at usual or even beyond capacity.

We need a rethink as many countries have more holidays than we do yet are prosperous.

Life is not just about work, a little break is good to enjoy life or reflect about it. After all ,all is vanity, we shall all be dead. Let the living honor the dead the best way they know fit.
Even folks in poor countries deserve to enjoy life, even just sitting down and talking about nothing.

When Obama became president some countries had a holiday for a week
The poor countries right? Imagine you have a cheque to bank tomorrow or the day after. Then you are told it won't mature till Wednesday? It there something to smile about? What of those kids beginning their academic year today and expected to complete their syllabus for national exams at the end of the year. 5 days of no work is not something to smile about for a country like this

That's why till this day, I sit and reflect at something Matiba had as a campaign objective. Put simply it was wananchi pia wastaarabu kwa kiasi.

It wasn't planned to be like this. Just a crazy coincidence that Baks died, Labour Day fell on a Sunday and Idd has always been celebrated.
Not that hard to grasp, is it?
