Badi VS Cartel

It's Me Scumbag

I like how you shamelessly lump people who earn an honest living in the same category as criminals, very classy!

A system built to be chaotic cannot be orderly, you cannot wish that away. The new termini simply shift the chaos from the CBD to the periphery so brace yourselves for more, not less.
So you imply that you need help and direction from the touts when you are need to use PSV to go anywhere in town? So that chaos can continue.

Have you recently walked along Tom Mboya Street?

Edit: Boss you need to separate touts and conductors in your definitions of making a honest living. One is legally working and paying taxes while the other is an opportunist who want to earn for doing nothing.
The system was not built to be chaotic. The industry players turned it chaotic. Actually using your very same argument that they are making an honest living. There is nothing honest about some one showing me what I already know. Unless one is stupid.
Returning sanity is what Badi is endevouring to do.

Why do you skirt around the fact that conductors pay for touts to shout themselves hoarse and essentially serve as first point of contact for passengers? Conductors are criminally overworked, touts relieve them off the more tasking part of the job, that way they can serve you from 5 in the AM to 10 in the PM

You have been around for a while so you witnessed better days when KBS existed, the more we liberalised the sector got the worse it became, how do you not see the correlation?

The more lucrative and open the sector became, the more the players it attracted and the stiffer the competition, with no job security and high targets which must be met what is a conductor to do? They need to outsource hence the touts

True, conductors do pay touts. However, with time, these touts become a menace to both conductors and travelers. The question now becomes, is there a better way of doing it? Are there operators who have embraced a different way of doing things? I have seen operators whose 'touts' are employees of the Sacco and who have no leeway to engage in criminality. We have experienced touts for several decades, and the unanimous verdict is that their utility, in the current form, is negative for all stakeholders. Before touts came along, a vehicle would have at least two conductors.

Exactly my point, the industry needs to employ way more people than it does, we wouldn't have touts if Sacco's hired on need basis.

Badi may mean well but his reach is too short to make any meaningful change, we need change emanating from the Transport ministry, that is where they call the shots
