That is the bad thing with folks like you that logon to the internet to tweet and tukuna your political opponents.

Please be students of history.

Katiba 2010 was almost a copy & paste of the US Constitution.

Currently the Democrats have a slight majority in Congress. They will be trounced in the November mid-terms and probably lose the House to the Republicans and still have a Democrat POTUS.

Passing the government's agenda is based on the art of persuasion. Not all the policies that Ruto will propose will be bad, and even if there is a strong opposition would pass. There are some that would be middle ground would need to be debated, checked and a compromise made. This will also keep spending in check and not just give the Executive a blank check.

That is how it is meant to work. Not having everyone trooping to one side.

You can make your point without insulting me, Senator.

First of all, you make an error comparing 200+ year old democracies with a 60 year old one.

Second, the easiest example you could make, when minority is government is what happened to Sonko. Both Jubilee and ODM MCA's ganged up and impeached him over not releasing funds to NMS. We won't even bother mentioning the terrorism charges that came after.

What we are seeing at the moment is where the hunter's trap has been used against the hunter..

The Azimio mongrel was meant to divide votes at the national level with village parties from all corners of Kenya. Instead, the splits only happened at the grassroot level.

The marriage of convinience that Uhuru promulgated with over 20+ parties (that most of you were boasting about) has broken up once the incentive has been taken away.

Expecting KK with a parliamentary minority to be magnanimous and not poach MP's is not only foolhardy, but elementary level politics.
You are right. I agree with you.

I agree with you that Kenyas politics are overwhelmingly about personal interests, otherwise called tumbocracy. Our churn out rate for politicians is very high. Very few get reelected. Why? I don't know!

That brings up your question of having a minority government. It's possible when the opposition politicians don't require the executive. The recent judicial ruling about the CDF has strengthened the executive.

Combine those factors above and you have a legislature that is open for exploitation by the executive.

Mwiba wa kujidunga, Uhuru used to raid opposition benches, Raila agreed to be bought, hao wawili hawafai kulia. Mkenya wa kawa a join opposition pale KoT
But Ruto was the opposition within the government. We don't have such a counter balance now.

My friend. I'm not Jaruo. Second, I have never been in government nor done any business with the Government of Kenya. That will not change now nor in the near future. Why would I gloat about it?

Ten years ago, when UhuRuto came into power you celebrated. The question to be asked is and answer honestly, which I doubt you will.

Are you, your family (extended too) or a majority of Kenyans better off now than they were 5, 10 years ago?

You and I know the answer to that question. So I really don't see what you are celebrating.

I am not even talking about personal interests here. That is another discussion all together.

I am talking about the Azimio mongrel. This thing was designed and sculpted by a sitting president, with state power as a plan B once BBI failed.

At its very core, Azimio was a special purpose vehicle. It would have been delusional to expect the partners that were brought together due to threats and duress would stick together once they failed to win.

The argument here is that Ruto is paying them.

Why aren't you entertaining the thought that they could be moving willingly? What value is there in Azimio when Raila is dead politically and Uhuru has no state power? Who is the king pin in Azimio?

You are right that there is no immediate gain from Uhuru now. He is a spent force. He is history.

However, I have always disagreed with BBI opponents. I believe we people from Mt Kenya got shortchanged. We are net exporters of our wealth and power. We don't get anything tangible in return! We have a lot of urban poor within us. Alcohol is killing our children. But our issues are swept under the rug. Some of our people are even ashamed of saying they are Kikuyus.

This apologism needs to end. We need our freedom back. One man, on shilling, on vote!

I agree with you on Mt Kenya, the only part we differed is that your solution to resolving it meant you would be taking poisoned water to cure your thirst. Eventually you would die of something different.

If you remember Ruto's suggestion, he said we should split and vote on separate issues. I was 100% for that because I would have picked what I wanted in BBI and what I didn't want, thrown out.

Why did Uhuru and Raila refuse that fair suggestion?

That's BS sir. Ruto and his people said we have too many MPs to accomodate more from Mt Kenya. Give me a media article that said Ruto supported more representation and funding for Mt Kenya region.
