What do you trim? Education takes 30% of the recurrent expenditure
Security takes 15-20%
Counties more than 25%
What of the salaries of other govt departments?
Triming the budget, corruption, and living within our means is part of the governance and institutional reforms I talked about. But how significant will trimming that kind of budget bring? At least google vitu zingine. Mnaskizanga budget kweli?
I was listening to Abraham Mugo on Spicefm and I agree with him, there's so much redundancy within recurrent expenditure both in national and county govts. And when you try eliminate any of them you find out it is someone's fiefdom for eating from govt. I'm sure we can cut down recurrent expenditure to a half or even a third, and get more efficient public services. Many kenyans have this attitude that govt has unlimited money for 'eating' thus the bloat. Together with the old KANU idea that govt should be the primary employer. Just create a conducive environment for 'bottom up' businesses and people will employ themselves outside govt. But that's what the numerous old KANU orphans do not want

Hapa sasa ndio maneno iko.... Cutting down recurrent expenditure.....

Yet you'll still see people asking what's worse that can happen. Achana an unemployment ju sjui, but everything else is worse

Never base your deductions on World Bank or IMF statistics without first looking at the definitions and methods they used to collect the data. A good example here is Kenya's employment rate which is quoted at 6.6%, but which we all know is unrealistic from the common understanding of unemployment.

But everything else can be easily verified from simple google, no?

Why are we getting loans that are not helping Kenyans at all?
Izi debates zako I think ntashidwa. Loans gain? Aren't we currently borrowing to rest old loans? Ama you just want default to shout to your voice that Ruto is a failure? Who will be the loser

Even imf says there's a lot of wastage in government.

Note that during that period there has not been a significant general wage increase for civil servants and teachers. If anything, new teachershave been employed on half salaries as "intern teachers", a euphemism for shortchanging them. Where has the money gone?

At the sametime apartments construction in kileleshwa is very booming. At a very high rate.

They broke that cycle last year, something that has been running flawlessly for about 2 decades.
