Apana blame victims. We need a total reset of systems if this danger is to be contained. We cannot have a small group enjoying luxurious lives at the expense of the poor majority. The inequities that we all love to ignore will forever trap the country in an explosive environment, waiting for the right trigger to go off. There is always going to be uncertainties and chaos when society questions or seeks to replace an old equilibrium with a new one.
What's the solution to inequality? Why can't people seize the moment to force governance and institutional reforms? How do you create jobs for those in the streets, overnight? How will forcing Ruto to resign make a new govt give them jobs, especially at a time when we are in a deep debt hole? As you pointed out, the Eastlands goons will seize the moment to loot even more. The simplistic solutions of an average man to huge problems only work in the world of dreams.

I am fearing reading your posts nowadays coz I can no longer feel the old you.This country needs a reset and a few of us will lose something for the greater good so be it. The country is NOT solving their personal problems now, what do they lose if they try something else?
Force those reforms. We are a country reeled in debt. If we default just one single time, there is no coming back from that. It will be very painful. I dare you to tell me the solution to the debt problem, which is the cause of all our troubles.
And I also want to add that Egypt, Libya, Sudan, etc wanted a reset. Egypt right now is in deeper economic trouble than Kenya. Of course, you know about the rest of the countries I mentioned.

Not complex solution, but there is no solution to debt, except to pay. I listened to someone in X space saying she's angry because the govt is not employing people. How do you expect the govt to employ people en masse, in 2024?

The how is up to govt, and they should do it fast without adding taxes on common man, the olive branch for postponed total disorder won't last long should any Mp make funny comments moments from now (or for a very long time).
Jesus, do you research or at least read what others post? In a country that collects about 2.2-2.5T as revenue, 1.2T goes to recurrent expenditure, 380-400B goes to counties, and already debt repayment should take 60-70% of that revenue, how are you supposed to repay the loan without borrowing?

What do you trim? Education takes 30% of the recurrent expenditure
Security takes 15-20%
Counties more than 25%
What of the salaries of other govt departments?
Triming the budget, corruption, and living within our means is part of the governance and institutional reforms I talked about. But how significant will trimming that kind of budget bring? At least google vitu zingine. Mnaskizanga budget kweli?
Honestly our only way out is agriculture and industrialization now that our oil is non-existent. However, the tax regime must be reviewed to not only encourage more "factories" but also make our goods/products very competitive in the Intl market. A starting point is affordable and stable power, a key ingredients in manufacturing that am not so sure we are doing well in either. Honestly, If that cabinet sits down and resolves to make Kenya the Singapore of Africa, we will be there. We are past our taxation ceiling in current form..
