Officials who served under the former regime of President Uhuru Kenyatta are falling in troves as the new administration of President William Rutio stamps its authority.
The latest casualty is Githii Mburu who resigned on Thursday.
Mburu was highly unlikely to survive in office to serve under Board Chairman Antony Mwaura who battled multiple tax cases when Kenyatta was in office in what Ruto’s faction termed as “political persecution.”

“The board has today received the resignation letter of Commissioner General Githii Mburu who resigned to pursue personal interests,” a statement from the board chairman Mwaura stated.
And following Mburu’s resignation, lawyer Rispah Simiyu was named to the position in an acting capacity.

Or maybe toxic working environment
Most likely pressure from the many tax cheats he exposed in his present and previous capacity, most of whom have some say in the present government. Many of the big 'flourishing' businesses you see around are propped by dodging taxes. Some of these proceeds are used to fund politics. To succeed as a tax cheat, you need to be in favorable terms with the government of the day.

What about the families skipping tax remittances?

Makosa yake was agreeing to be used as a political tool fighting certain Kenyans and allowing tax evasion for the politically aligned even authorising tax evasion directly from his office...good riddance

Has he ever been convicted for corruption?
Ni kama mnakuwanga na mental block when it comes to Jayden's crimes. Who doesn't remember the tax demands for Ruto allies? Who doesn't remember the famous tax exemption for the NCBA merger a bank Uhuru invested in? Priss, apana sumbua The Black juu you can't handle the truth.

Who doesn't remember the tax demands for Ruto allies?
So they shouldn't have been asked to pay because they are Ruto's friends?

Last I checked tax exemptions are given by the Minister for Finance ( CS Treasury) and a memo why given to the Auditor General. How was it Githii's issue? Why don't you wait for the determination of the case in court?

Why did they not receive tax demands when they were Uhuru's friends? Are trying to tell me KRA plays no role? And as we wait for the court decision, when those who were given demands were cleared ulisema ni Ruto amefanya. Now if NCBA is told to pay si utasema ni Ruto anafinya Uhuru?
