SUBJECT: STEALING FROM A LOCKED MOTOR VEHICLE

Refer my ob xx/28/01/2022 at 1500hrs.Occurred at BUMALA town.
It was reported by one John Oscar Juma a Luo Male adult aged 47 yrs that he today withdrew money KSH 2 million from his Co-Operative Bank account BUSIA branch. He placed the money in the boot of his car in a bag and drove towards kisumu along the way at Bumala town he stopped to take a meal at Western Ambiance Hotel. He parked the vehicle in the hotel's parking yard after about 30 minutes he left. Along the way while at Sega town,he realized that his other bag which contained his clothes and money KSH 144000/- which was in the back seat was missing. He then stopped to confirm about the bag which was in the boot with the money and also found it missing. He went back to the Hotel to make inquiries where it was confirmed that the hotel's CCTV footage captured occupants of another vehicle reg no. KCM 948U which was also parked at the hotel's parking yard breaking into the said vehicle by opening the door using another key and taking away the two bags after which they boarded their vehicle and left.
Scene was visited and processed and the motor vehicle circulated.Case PUI DCI Butula dealing.

The footage had captured occupants of an unestablished car make registration number KCM 948U use a key to gain ingress into the victim’s car, before walking back to their vehicle carrying two bags and driving off. On receiving the report, detectives processed the scene and commenced the hunt for the criminals. They however lost trail of the hoodlums after the registration plates earlier used on the suspicious vehicle were found dumped at a roadside.
