Jubilee Development: Ban on sale of roast maize

Does my Location Chief have powers to stop me selling or roasting maize that I have planted in my farm? A process that has no input from public coffers! Aren't some Chiefs misusing the Chief's Act?

Looks like it'll inconvinience honest traders rather than stopping theft. If they can't keep watch on every shamba will they patrol every backroad and trail to stop movement of stolen maize (which is mostly at night, btw)?

Chief is lazy. Picked the simplest thing that looked like a solution and proceeded to put a checkmark on the problem. I doubt that thieves will now stop stealing because the chief has decreed.

The chief has the benefit of history and knowledge of his terrain. The machome na masabe guys given a choice between buying their stock and picking free maize from any one of the neighbouring farms will choose the easy pickings. It is a seasonal business. (I am familiar with the problem having spent some years in Bungoma).

What is 'the 'woke community''? Problem with 'people' who immediately 'label' people as 'something' because they point out that a proposed 'solution' may have ill 'consequences' is that they 'themselves' aren't adding to the 'debate' in any meaningful way. In fact they draw attention away from the topic to themselves in saying they don't subscribe to the said 'label'.

There isn't a solution in the world that every soul will agree on.

Ni watu ambao hudhani ukereketwa ni kupiga kelele Kwa mitandao ya kijamii. Mara kwa mara hawana sababu ama sababu zao ni hafifu mno. Kwa mfano Ndungu @Meria anauliza iwapo chifu ana uwezo wa kumzuia asichome mahindi kwake? Ilhali chifu anajaribu kuzuia wizi wa mahindi mabichi shambani, inashangaza kwamba kuchoma mahindi yako mabichi na kuuza mahindi mabichi si mamoja kamwe, hivyo basi niliyemtaja ni 'woke' ambao kazi Yao ni kukosoa bila kuleta suluhu yeyote.
