THREE suspects of Obtaining Money by False Pretences were yesterday arrested within Nairobi town after they defrauded a man Ksh. 410,000/- while pretending to be in a position to help him get recruited as a KDF Officer.
Having been lured into the trap by one Mr. Paul Parsamei SIRERE the victim had met the trio at Accra Hotel-Nrb on 2nd Jan, 2020, & upon giving the cash issued with KDF Calling Letter.
They had agreed to meet again yesterday for yet another deal to "help" a relative of the victim get enrolled.
However, on showing the letter to a friend, he had become suspicious & sought clarification from DCI Detectives from DCI Central-Nrb & Military Police who found the calling letter to be fake.
The joint team of officers launched a manhunt for the suspects & ambushed them at the meeting venue yesterday where upon search three more fake KDF calling letters were confiscated.
Sirere, Jackline MAGAYA & Alex KINGWA placed in custody pending arraignment to answer to charges of Obtaining Money by False Pretences contrary to section 313 of the Penal Code.
