This is Guka - Guka's Take: The Time for the Luo Nation to Claim its Birthright is Now

Chief on:
Item 1: Our lakeside brothers heckled Kenyatta because of his political differences with Jaramogi. Differences that were actually of his own creation and that Kenyatta through Mboya exploited. They had the option of shutting up after all they had never benefitted from Jaramogi even when he was friends with Jommo.

Jomo also had the option of leaving Kisumu and letting the people be. How tiny was his ego that he had his presidential guard shoot people who heckled him? Did people had to die because jomo felt they did not like him?
How pathetic or hateful does one have to be to justify shooting unarmed civilians?

Item 2: I see you qualified the statement to include other Kenyans but I don't recall our Kavirondo brothers being active during the Kenyatta years other than during trade union elections and even then it was brief. Moi era as far as I know Shikuku, Matiba, Njoya, Wamalwa were not Luos....what Raila tried in 1982 was stupid of him.

You don't recall simply because you were not interested in what went on there, or with whoever was from there. Here is a reminder. People like Hezekiah Oyugi, Dalmas Otieno, David Amayo who was at one time kanu chairman were pitted against other Luo politicos to keep them fighting.

At that time, Moi was dividing districts according to dominant clans like Rachuonyo, Suba, Kuria, Migori and others to keep them isolated. The recurring clashes of the Nandi and the police on one side, and the Luo, Luhyas and Kisiis on the other. Here is something you can read.

Your only interest in this matter is Raila.

Perhaps the best demonstration of this is the murder of Baby Pendo while she was securely tied to her mother's back, inside her own home.

Item 3: The genesis and progression of violence is well documented let us not argue stupidly. Luos opted to kill kukuyus and loot their businesses. No luo was killed in most parts of central. None of their property was looted. If you are of a different opinion, bring the evidence...

So the Luos who died in Naivasha were killed by who exactly? Madimoni?

Good thing is, you can't cover up what is perfectly documented...

Let me copy-paste this for you, in case you decide not to click the link.

Violence started across the town on Sunday morning, January 27. One of the young men who participated in the attacks said, "On Sunday morning the mob went up to Kabati [an area of Naivasha town]. They split into groups. Some of them I recognised, some of them not. They blocked all the roads, even cars were not getting in or out." He claimed he joined in to avoid discrimination, but nevertheless witnessed the burning and killing of Luo residents:

I went along just to pretend that I was with them. I saw a man cut, and a house burned, the one with all the people in. It was around twelve in the afternoon. The house was surrounded by a mob. You can't tell who lit the fire, there were too many people surrounding the place and watching. But I saw boys go in and take the kids out of the house before the place was set on fire with the man left in there. But they did not know that in the back room were hiding more people.[163]

In fact 19 people were hiding in the back room including women and children and two infants under two years old. They all burned to death.

Other young boys living in Kabati also claimed that when the mob came they were forced to join in. A witness told Human Rights Watch, "On that day when the Kikuyu boys came, it was war. They forced us to go with them, I did not know them."[164] Another resident, a Kisii boy in secondary school whose home was burned by mistake, added, "Their plan was to destroy, they were looking for Luo houses, only Luo. They just asked people who was living in each house, they had some local boys who knew which houses to burn."[165]

What I have never understood is why Luos always bet on the same loosing horse for 30 consecutive years. On the other hand, there is not record of Merus betting on a looser. That is bets way to most benefit politically in Kenya with minimum amount of input.

Chief you have an issue with understanding simple English. I have asked you who started the looting and killing? Were Kikuyus supposed to sit on their hands?
Just use 0.0000001 of your brain

Don't count Hezikiah Oyugi because alot of Kikuyus in the army lost their jobs for a matter that was poorly thought out and hence foolish...

It looks like comprehensioin is an utter bitch for you. Which part of this quoted statement implies you were asking who started the looting and killing?

Stop shifting goalposts and understand your own statements first before rushing to answer.

Again, just to prove that your only interest in this matter was to put down Raila and Luos, there is a very big difference between Hezekiah Oyugi and Hezekiah Ochuka.

And the people who lost their jobs were from the Air Force, not Army, and it wasn't kikuyus only but that's your only interest. What a narrow point of view to see things from.

The former was a powerful PC who became PS Internal Affairs while the latter was the coup leader. Oyugi was named a person of interest in the murder of Robert Ouko, another Luo you probably know nothing about but would love to put down simply because he's a Luo. I've given you more fodder. Go ahead.

Please go read the history of this country. You come out as someone who is arguing while knowing jack shit about what you are arguing about.

Wacha tuone who will pick up the mantle ya #LindaKatiba. If anything, it is the Luo who have bled most for the freedoms we enioy in this country. They should be the ones to vehemently defend the constitution as it is. Let us hope those signatures were forgeries na kitaeleweka kwa debe.
Modern day liberation struggle it may seem Luopeans have suffered more , i have observed that Kiuks have paid a very very heavy price, being in "government" has actually been the heaviest fallacy. When the 1952 emergency started they have never left it psychologically, financially, culturally even geographically (land adjudication/injustice) The academic system has been structured to accept and move on. The political class/elite has betrayed Kenyans but Kikuyu elite/dynasty has failed their people and the nation.

Sometimes I just wonder where Kenya would have been by now if we had a leader in the mould of Lee Kuan Yew. Yes he wasn't perfect but at least he ensured his country grew.

Now we have the chance to get rid of these dynasties if we all unite rather than continue getting played by the tribes or regions we come from.

I maybe wrong but i see Raila as a lucky opportunist, huwa anaangukia sometimes.

Ahem. . . . Naivasha is not in central its actually in RV
