Just out of curiosity, have you become increasingly religious over the last 6 months? Why do I ask, you wonder.Nope.
In Romans 1:18-20, Paul as inspired by God writes: The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
Now, I am not a theologian but God's love supersedes His wrath and according to my simple understanding, as @Pastor wrote earlier today in a different thread, The fool says in his heart that there is no God. Makes you think, eh? BTW, these are not words uttered by the aforementioned Lister but rather are in Holy Scriptures in the 1st verse of the 14th chapter of the Psalms of David.
When I was an atheist, not gonna lie, I was angry at a lot of stuff to do with the "so-called loving God" who allowed a lot of bad stuff to happen in the World but now with His revelation, I am able to see that the World is wicked because we ourselves are. It's our nature and no wonder we remain in desperate need of a Saviour. Does salvation make us good people? Not quite since all of us have fallen short but does it guarantee eternal sonship? Yes. Remember, we are not physical beings having a brief spiritual experience but rather, we are spiritual beings having a veeeeeery temporal earthly experience. Life is eternal.
I digress... so what about those who never heard the Gospel?
And this isn't limited to our ancestors only. While in Malaysia, I met someone who absolutely had no clue who Jesus was. He thought it's a movie curse word!
Back to the initial scripture, I believe that God reveals Himself even without preachers uttering the Gospel message and as the 2nd scripture says, those that deny there being a God are just dancing to the tune of their folly.
My personal opinion also is that when Christ died and the Bible records that he descended to the underworld (1 Peter 4:6), it states that "good tidings were proclaimed to the dead". And I believe the deeds and the belief in a deity to those who never heard the good news are assured of salvation.

Made me chuckle a good one.Just out of curiosity, have you become increasingly religious over the last 6 months? Why do I ask, you wonder.
Well, there has been a noticeable change in your online personality of late - for the worse.
Religious people are generally nuts, and I fear we might be losing the most level-headed young man in this forum to a white old ghost in the sky. Will be a sad day....
By the way, I absolutely have not. Still the same old me. Been on this site since day one and I've always maintained about my beliefs which I don't actually like talking about. For instance, I've never even shared why or how I ditched atheism.Just out of curiosity, have you become increasingly religious over the last 6 months?
Tell us now.For instance, I've never even shared why or how I ditched atheism.
Phew! Thanks. For one moment there I thought we were losing you the way we lost a very nice old man from the slopes to irrational politics...siku hizi almost everything he posts is one-dimensional....By the way, I absolutely have not. Still the same old me. Been on this site since day one and I've always maintained about my beliefs which I don't actually like talking about. For instance, I've never even shared why or how I ditched atheism.
It's also not the 1st time that I go into lengths to explain my religious view to someone genuinely and curiously asking a Christian's opinion like I did above.
You'll also notice that religious talk in the kijiji is at an all time high, partly because of the hypocrisy that has become part of our national leadership. It is thus inevitable. However, and I stand to be corrected, I never just engage for the sake of it.
In fact, the past weekend had close to five religion-related threads that I chose to ignore to avoid unnecessary and never - ending debates (just like the good @Liberty does) or due to lack of knowledge needed to engage at that level. These threads were started by mostly non-believers of this kijiji which is not a bad thing as the more differing our views are, the better experience for everyone. Diversity is strength, aye.
Just like in my life outside Klist, I have great admiration and respect to people who don't believe in what I do such as you, @Othello, @Mwalimu-G etc.
I've also always been open about my ordinary life that many Christians would bash me for. I appreciate beautiful women without cheating on my wife, I enjoy contemporary music eg blasting hardcore rap in my jalopy which my pastor would be surprised of and I do have my drink every once in a while. Also, I loathe some people that I ought to love especially in the World of politics and society in general. Heck, I even support 'killer cop' Rashid wa Eastleigh.
So, I've not changed and I hope I never do coz having a relationship with God is the best thing that ever happened to me. Story for another day but I'd be dead if it wasn't for Christ!
I will one day. Let me just say it involved being lost and confused in a foreign land, losing someone close back at home, the use of psychedelics, hospitalisation and a near death experience.Tell us now.
Millions of not billions have an intimate relationship with god and Christ yet worse off than you, would you care to explainBy the way, I absolutely have not. Still the same old me. Sorry, I don't get your question.Millions of not billions have an intimate relationship with god and Christ yet worse off than you, would you care to explain
including this one?Sorry, I don't get your question.
Also, most, if not all generalisations are false.
Christ in fact promised that his followers would suffer, but the one who endured to the end will be saved.Millions of not billions have an intimate relationship with god and Christ yet worse off than you, would you care to explain
Why must people suffer? Is god a sadist? Why can't he prevent the suffering of his people, especially those who are not sinful?Christ in fact promised that his followers would suffer, but the one who endured to the end will be saved.
Stay poor and your rights as a human being violated for something you've never seen?Christ in fact promised that his followers would suffer, but the one who endured to the end will be saved.
Logically you won't get itSorry, I don't get your question.
Also, most, if not all generalisations are false.
Should man serve God only when he gets something in return, true service to God is loyalty in the face of adversity, how would you feel if your wife left you at the slightest hint of trouble? God is loyal to those who are Loyal to himStay poor and your rights as a human being violated for something you've never seen?
He will in due time, according to his timetable, and if he is able to undo any pain/harm caused doesn’t it make sense to be patient? It is also an opportunity to show that we serve him out of genuine love not because we get stuff in return.we value metals that can withstand heat and stress don’t we, likewise God values the quality of endurance and long sufferingWhy must people suffer? Is god a sadist? Why can't he prevent the suffering of his people, especially those who are not sinful?
So you comparing God to my Wife??? Tomba munguShould man serve God only when he gets something in return, true service to God is loyalty in the face of adversity, how would you feel if your wife left you at the slightest hint of trouble? God is loyal to those who are Loyal to him
