wild meat

I don't know what you mean but poaching is a serious economic crime and I haven't seen anyone praised for doing it. There's a reason our tourism industry is doing badly yet flourishing in countries that value nature and wildlife such as TZ and Rwanda.
What value are these animals to communities harbouring/neighboring the ecosystems where they are found, yet outsiders profit immensely operating lodges and tour companies. In Tanzania the village system collects revenue at designated barriers at the entry of protected areas (parks, wildlife management areas)
Local community engagement in management of locally available vresources turns poachers to protectors

That's the difference between a national park which are completely forbidden for the community to use such as Nairobi National Park, both Tsavos, Nakuru and the Marine National Parks of Malindi, Mombasa and Kisite Mpunguti (sp)

As for National Reserves such as the Mara ecosystem, the triangulate Reserves of Samburu, Shaba and Buffalo Springs, the community is allowed to benefit from the protected areas and even co-participate in their running.

Then you have the Conservancies such as Lewa and Ol Pajeta that are high on PR but not very friendly to the indigenous community.

All in all, wildlife is part of our natural heritage just as are forests and if we don't care enough to protect them, then we are no better than those animals.

You got my point, distribution of resources here renders neighbouring parks or reserves a liability to poor communities which actually originally owned the land.
