Even when his appeal was thrown out, he still had time to ponyoka, instead he takes himself to jail.
67 years in jail is worth running away from.
Or has he been promised a pardon ?

Same question am asking myself.
That's life imprisonment. Watanipata Timbuktu.
Si wewe uko jokes Banae?
Being a fugitive from justice is one of the worst status a man can get himself into.
How do you live looking over your shoulders all the time? All the fear and fret of being tapped on the shoulder and hearing the words “we have reason to believe you are so and so...”

Do not forget that the law also makes it illegal for anybody to “assist, aid or harbour” a fugitive, whether they know it or not.

Are you also forgetting that Countries have extradition treaties whereby criminals evading justice are returned to jurisdictions where they committed the crimes?

Furthermore, when you are used to a life of comfort and privilege as this MP, how do you adjust yourself to living in the jungle or in the slums?
How do you transact with banks and cross international borders?
Importantly @Aviator, how long can you hide before you go dry spell and start missing your wife?
Wouldn’t you miss your kids, grandkids, friends and even kenyanlisters?

Felician Kabuga did it effortlessly and in France/Belgium for that matter, heck even polpot alijificha Nyeri.
This pig could have at least tried kuingia embobut forest.

And where is he now? You may run but cannot hide. Sooner or later someone claims the prize over your head.

The charges never go away. You may run to the ends of the world but “what is written in your charge sheet never goes”.

Kabuga is now penniless after bribing everyone crossing his path. Everybody demanding a ransom not to out him. When he couldn’t bribe anymore, the big prize was claimed.

that doesn't take away the fact that he lived 'free' for all those years.

I like the fact that you recognise that he was “free” but never really free.
Would you venture to say that his efforts were worth the troubles he put himself through?

Why not face justice like Gbagbo? You might surprise yourself finding that the prosecution can’t discharge their burden of proof or that one has defences against allegations laid.

Cowards run away from their actions. Courageous and prudent people own up their mistakes and face their predicaments heads on.

Escaping and running away to Embobut or Karura does not negate atrocities caused.

The biggest problem with running is that you confirm your guilt. You leave no room for amnesty say from a higher court or the president.

By taking himself into prison Waluke will prolly be free after two years at the most. The powers that be will intervene for one reason or another....
He should be presented at a firing squad at uhuru park l

Am just not one to present himself for a life sentence. Never.
There can't be worse punishment if am caught afterwards, and I will have enjoyed a few more days of freedom.
