Only a fool would ever downplay the value of good advise.
After all, we are born dumb, stupid and ignorant and have to learn from others how to behave in order to maximise our survival. Please kindly note that I am by no means discounting those of you who believe we are born tabula rasa and other such theories.
What I wish to generate in this discussion is what the best advise you were ever bequeathed or bumped into and how it changed, shaped or impacted your life.
The only reason I term it as being bequeathed advise is because we ought to be honest with ourselves that not all the folks you meet are benevolent with good counsel and will, for most part not have your best interest at heart.
Since I do not want to be labelled selfish, allow me to be the first to bite the bullet as it were. After all we Greeks have a famous saying, “mwambiririo muru no wa itimu”.
For me the following is the best advise I ever stumbled into and which I try to aspire to but unfortunately with dismal success:
Be kind
Be respectful
Be thankful
I guess if we embrace such, we would make our interactions and discourses with others fruitful and interesting.
