What is happening at Manchester United?

Some people warned that when INEOS took over they would turn the club into a mid-level team like their other football clubs.

The usual derby day hype is now non-existent.

If we could go back in time, the club should have taken that Sheikh money.

At this point, the United job will be the most difficult one in world football. Citeh are having their worst season since the sheikh money started flowering and they're about 10 places higher, 14 points more, and have scored 20 times more.

Since SAF left, you've changed managers more than Pogba has changed hairstyles.

David Moyes used a safe and cautious approach that lacked excitement. Louis van Gaal focused on keeping the ball and playing in a slow, controlled way. José Mourinho was very practical, putting defence and results first. Ole Gunnar Solskjær preferred fast attacks and gave players more freedom, trying to bring back the old United spirit. Ralf Rangnick wanted a high-energy pressing game, but it didn’t work well. Erik ten Hag brought a more organised style, using smart passing and trying to control the game.

And as for finances, you've spent more than the likes of the Mighty Arsenal and Liverpool while improving backwards.

At this point, ni kama mtafanya fasting na muombe sana coz I can't think of a way out. Or you can accept the new reality and compete vs the likes of Fulham and Crystal Palace for midtable mediocrity.

A big problem has been that after Sir Alex left, we had non-football people running the club. They cared more about the commercial aspects of the club and didn't have a strategy for the footballing side apart from signing big name players and managers.

Remember after Arsenal moved to Emirates and Wenger had to sell young talents developed at Arsenal to fund the club, leaving the fans frustrated at lack of progress, Man united is now entering that stage because of the Glazer's debt.

Selling academy players provides much needed funds. That's why they sold Mctominay, and why they frustrated Rashford to get him to leave and have considered selling likes of Garnacho and Mainoo. On top of that there's talk of a new stadium that will need to be paid off. And they won't commit to doing an overhaul to get the new coach players who fit his system, yet he's stubborn about not having to compromise his system for the premier league like Ten Hag had to do. It will be a long grind for man united this coming few years unless something changes.

Just like Kenya, Man Utd is a club that has been leveraged to the neck by the Glazers who have used so little of those funds to improve the facilities and the squad. The costly quick fixes like Casemiro, Ronaldo, Varane have done nothing but set the club back further.

Now here comes INEOS. The guys who have to make the unpopular choices, cut jobs, cut benefits just so the club can remain a float.

Now, the people who are doing what must be done to make the club profitable so they can use the profits to build the team, the actual backbone of the club, are the ones being blamed when the ones who caused the problem remain shielded.

INEOS are not only currently renovating Carrington, but they want to start a new stadium build before the end of the year. A stadium that will propel United forward financial so extensively they will have the ability to improve the team so much more.

Amorim has just introduced a new style of play and you can already see how much better the team has got in the patterns and the only thing lacking is the goals. You can only be optimistic going forward.

It will take Man United 20 years to build a team
A minimum of 3 years and ideally about 5 years should be enough. The manager that will communicate that will be unpopular, but right. That's what Rangnick tried to pragmatically communicate to the club and I believe he had the backing of the board but the fans... Oh, those fans! None as entitled as them. Constantly holding on to history as if we're in the 90s when they bulldozed their way to multiple titles. The fans are a menace to that club and the sooner they grow some patience, the sooner some sort of improvement will be seen.

And it's not just with them demanding for trophies, it's even worse the pressure they pile on the players. One bad game and they hound the servants of the club like witches being led to a stake. It's pathetic bana.

Now prospecting players will be wary of joining United and you know what the fans will say? "If the badge is too heavy, you're not meant to be a red!"

Alafu that development they wanna do that looks like Dubai on steroids, it will only serve to enrich INEOS while providing semblance that they're competing with Citeh who've done a great job incorporating into the community.

I might sound harsh but I wish them well. There'll never be another rivalry like that United-Arsenal one, well at least for me as a Kenyan fan and hope they're lucky enough to experience the kind of freshness Arteta has brought, few trophies notwithstanding.

Gary Neville is up there with the worst pundits due to his United bias, but he's absolutely spot on here:

I personally initially had high hopes for INEOS. But when I saw how they wasted lots of millions on bungled contracts for Ten Hag and Dan Ashworth, and then turn around and start cutting out small things that matter like the staff canteen, Christmas party, charity donations or complimentary tickets to pioneer manager Sir Matt Busby's family, I realized they don't even know what they are doing, and don't care about Manchester United traditions. SJR is even a Chelsea season ticket holder despite claiming to be a Manchester United fan. The second in command was poached from Man City, our arch rivals.

Anyway let them do what they can, but the real solution will be to get the Glazers out with their debt burden.

Do you know that whatever Ragnick recommended actually happened? He recommended 'radical surgery' and that's what happened under Ten Hag. Ole's team, which I now judge to be clearly superior to the current one, was completely dismantled, but the club ended up overpaying for the likes of Hojlund and Antony. They should have been at most half their transfer cost.

Yes of course. Gary Neville (echoed by Roy Keane) now complaining about robotic football, when they previously hounded Ole for not having a 'style of play' by playing fast fluid attacking football.

Manchester United is known for bold attacking and entertaining play keeping fans at the edge of their seats, but let us see where this modern football leads. After all they poached Amorim because City wanted him as a successor to Pep. Hopefully it is not more guesswork by SJR.
