1. The last K.C.P.E examination under 8.4.4 system of education will be done in the year 2023 by the pupils who will be transiting to class 6 (end July, 2021).

2.Pupils transiting to grade 5 (end July, 2021) will be sitting for Primary School Education Assessment (PSEA) next year (2022) before transiting to Jun for Secondary (JS) in 2023.

3.There will be double in-takes in secondary schools in Kenya in the years 2023 and 2024 as secondary schools will be admitting grade 7 pupils (JS1) under CBC and form one students under 8.4.4 at the same time.In the year 2025, secondary schools in Kenya will not be admitting form ones. However, forms 2,3 and 4 (8.4.4) and Grades 7, 8 and 9 (CBC) in total six classes will be occupying spaces in secondary schools in Kenya. This will be the heaviest year in terms of educational resources.

4.Pupils transiting to grade 5 this year will join senior secondary schools in the year 2026 and will be completing basic education after sitting for Kenya Certificate of Basic Education (KCBE) in the year 2028.

5.The last K.C.S.E examination will be done in the year 2027.

It is so complicated and naona wazazi wanalia especially on the number of textbooks they have to buy.

CBC is very compelling. Whether its in the right direction or not should be open for review and adjustment. But that people complain about short term costs, or having to spend more time in their child's education (!), rather than the long term outcome, is too similar to how they elect politicians.

Would you rather you saved small amount of cash with the possibility that your progeny get an inferior education? If the complaint was questioning the advantages of CBC over 844 with the greater investment, it would make more sense.
