Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has announced that 10 counties will experience a power outage for eight hours on Wednesday, June 24.
The counties that will be affected are Nairobi, Nyandarua, Nyeri, Murang’a, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Kisii, Migori, Mombasa and Kilifi.

Last week I saw another blackout notice affecting another ten counties. At least this is in the right direction. Not the old way of abrupt unannounced blackouts. Someone is finally 'earning' their pay.

Mine have just been reduced (3 months now) since i was finally rated "residential". I used to pay around 16/- and now I range between 8 - 10/- which is a vast improvement considering they had previously used all kinds of excuses not to move me from the commercial rating.
Another positive from the corona outbreak for me.

Same thing happened last week and there were users who reported an outage ... just like today.
There's a theory that they usually put out the announcement to cover their asses and if the outage does occur, good. If it doesn't, they send out the statement denying the announcement ever came from them ... either way, meh!
