Wakikuyu ebu kujeni

I've noticed a number of my kikuyu friends have started adding "h" to their names.

A close friend I studied with at the great Alliance High School P.O.Box 7 Kikuyu, Motto: Strong to Serve, used to be called Njoroge then but now I noticed he calls himself Njorogeh.

Another friend who was an architect and the owner of Shephards Junior School in Nairobi was Mwangi but his obituary name was Mwangih.

Is it a new style or what? Kindly advice.
