Urban to Rural Migration

A silent transformation is happening. This will be driven primarily by the internet. Few people can see it but i can see it very well.

With good internet communication , people dont have to squeezed in congested and toxic urban areas. High density Urban areas will soon lose favour.

Government services are going online and it will be easier to open satelite offices in the counties.

Good transport infrastructure in towns away from Nairobi will mean that Nairobi real estate is going to lose favour big time.

Most people who live in congested nairobi estate will find it increasingly difficult to justify living in filthy , water scarce and expensive power areas in Nairobi.

If you have expensive real estate holding in Nairobi , you need to seriously evaluate, there will be a reverse rural urban migration.

In the 90, early 2000's and even the last decade, there was a strong reason to stay in Nairobi but that is not the case anymore.

Right now manufacturing is only 7% of GDP from 30% in the 90's. Jobs disappeared in the manufacturing sector. If you want to do manufacturing now you establish in rural areas where you can install solar power not in congested nairobi where even water and electricity supply is erratic.

Even hitherto good international School are looking to establish their facilities outside nairobi. This will be the last coffin in Nairobi downhill cascade.

There was this debate about getting matatu out of CBD, my advice is don't, if you get matatus out of Downtown nairobi. Those streets will just die, they will have very little traffic.

Nairobi main selling point was that you could get anything you wanted in a single geographic location. Right now you get anything you want on your Smart phone in your hands. Bye bye nairobi, hatukuwa na ubaya. The internet happened, congestion , pollution, lack of clean water and expensive rents caused our divorce.

Hakuna maisha slavery kuliko city life .
You have to buy every single thing hata basics kama dhania that can be grown in a tin .
Retirement plan is get like 1 acre or more and settle quietly , solar power on the roof , huge underground tanks to recycle rain water and my bio digester
