The UK intelligence reports reveal that in 1952 Jomo Kenyatta allies mobilised Kikuyu youths to protest against the British Kenya government following the arrest of Jomo Kenyatta and 5 other political activists.

Governor Sir Evelyn Baring was forced to declare a state of emergency.
