Ugandans will now have to shower to get into Kampala City

The Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) has proposed a new policy that will require Ugandans to bathe before entering Kampala City.

According to Daily express, a newspaper in Uganda, a source inside the authority is aimed at sanitizing the air saturation in the city after a recent report highlighted that body odour was a leading cause of air pollution in Kampala City.

The source says authority’s environment scientists made “serious observations and also interviewed people within the City and came to a conclusion that one way to improve the air saturation in Kampala is by enforcing people to bathe.

To this effect, the source says, several bathing will be constructed points across the major roads leading into the city which will be mandatory for all entering the city to bathe.

“We have constructed 24 shower points on all major roads into the city. It will be mandatory for people to bathe before entering Kampala or they will be barred from accessing the City,” he said.

“If one bathes at any of the shower points,” he said, “they receive a one-day permit to enter the City, and would have to do the same another day.”
