Uber guys protests

Since 2016 Kenyan drivers employed by Uber have been protesting about Uber.

Which makes me wonder, why can't they start their own app, market as buy Kenya build Kenya and ask Kenyans to switch? What I mean is they get someone to develop for them a strategy.

I know Uber has heavyweights behind it but sometimes one has to take the bull by the horns. Munga and James Mwangi did it with Equity Bank. Gicharu did it with Mt. Kenya University. I'm sure there are many examples out there of David v Goliath moments.

In other news, Kenyans hamuwezi saidika. You cannot keep the tempo on anything on social media that's why government will never yield to social media pressure. Juzi you protested and raised the heat on social media about the economy and IMF then you get distracted by small things like mtu akinyonya matiti in a birthday party.

Focus!

There was talk about having an app but as usual no agreement could be met as everybody wanted to eat first and maybe not work thereafte.

On KOT, message has hit home. No need to belabor it. Acha tungojee s€x tape yako ileak and that would provide fodder for a whole week.

Imagine the headlines, Aspiring MCA of Asembo East ward found in a compromising situation after...

nani huyo alikuwa ananyonya matiti?

People think that Uber is some simple app then anyone can just create within a short time. But reality is that it's a huge Microservice with Hundreds of Devs scattered across different countries working on the different services.

Not even Little Cab runs as smooth as Uber.

In short starting your own app is possible but you need proper financial muscle to hire lots of good devs

Some people don't understand how difficult it is to build software. Especially good software!

I didn't say that the drivers should develop the app themselves. Hata Mwangi na Munga their banking software must have been inferior to the Barclays and Stanchart of the 90s.

All am saying is these guys wakishikana they can be a force to reckon. Indonesia have a local taxi app that imesumbua uber alot.

I believe someone is usually as committed to a cause as the amount of personal resources they put into it. It costs next to nothing to make an angry tweet, but if, say, you put your own money into supporting a cause, you'll remain dedicated and focused.
