Turkish car promise

So apparently Erdogan promised this in 2017 and pulled it through in 2years.
Let this give you an idea of how a functional country works.
I know our chap brought the vw home but we all know how that story goes.

Erdogan first revealed plans in November 2017 here to launch a car made entirely in Turkey by 2021.

The consortium, called Turkey's Automobile Initiative Group (TOGG), was established in mid 2018 by five industrial groups: Anadolu Group, BMC, Kok Group, mobile phone operator Turkcell (TCELL.IS) and Zorlu Holding, the parent of TV maker Vestel (VESTL.IS).

TOGG's CEO is former Bosch executive Gurcan Karakas and its chief operating officer is Sergio Rocha, former General Motors Korea chief executive. It said it would begin production in 2022 with compact SUVs.

In October, Volkswagen (VOWG_p.DE) said it had postponed a final decision on whether to build a car plant in Turkey amid international criticism of an October Turkish military operation in Syria

most surprising is that with a kenyan passport you get a visa on arrival valid for 3 months.. with an eu passport you would need to apply prior to arrival... Turks hawatakangii ujinga.. kama wao wanahitaji visa kuingia kwenu nyinyi pia mnahitaji kuingia kwao.. best policy

Most people, because of how Turkey is portrayed by the press, actually think its a shithole country... but it is a very progressive country for those who have actually toured the country
As all other progressive nations, it has been behaving like US of A of late

Hapo kwa visa on arrival I think they changed the rules. Last December I was at Istanbul Airport with a friend na walitunyima visa.

alaa.. nitaacha kuwapa sifa sasa.. I was there around 2016

They changed the rules as part of their negotiations to join the E.U. Even though the negotiations have somehow stalled. But true, it's a fairly cheap destination. Russians with fairly low disposable incomes throng it during summer. Especially the city of Antalya.

the eu would fall apart if turkey ever joined.. wazungu are too anti islam..

You need an E-Visa even if you're connecting a flight and the layover is more than 12hrs. Their airline will not take you to hotels outside the airport kama huna hio and instead unawekwa mahali basic sana

Correct, as simple as that.

Kenya is quite expensive. A 7 night stay in a fairly good hotel in places like Morocco, Egypt, Greece, would cost you less than 40k. The same cannot be said about Kenya. Kwanza Mombasa, those hotels are sooo expensive yet facilities are basic
Very very true, siku hizi hata Nairobi has the same problem, 80usd and above and still all they have to offer is basic. The only hotel I've stayed that was worth it to some extent, is some hotel in wetlands and one Arab hotel in south C.

As the country comes to terms with one of the deadly massacres in recent years, a Turkish military cargo airplane has arrived in Mogadishu to airlift injured victims to Turkey for specialized treatment. It has also brought medical staff & supplies to support hospitals in #Somalia https://t.co/DcS20GVRhS
