All nations will now have to pay at least a 10% tariff on goods exported to the US, in what "The Don" calls Liberation Day.

He has also claimed that some countries are worse offenders in terms of trade imbalance and will face even higher tariffs. These include:
  • China – 34%
  • South Korea – 25%
  • India – 26%
  • Vietnam – 46%
  • Taiwan – 32%
  • Japan – 24%
  • Thailand – 36%
  • Switzerland – 31%
  • Indonesia – 32%
  • Malaysia – 24%
  • Cambodia – 49%
It’s interesting to see the EU and China reacting with dismay, and they will undoubtedly respond with their own countermeasures. Interesting times ahead.

Amidst all this geopolitical drama, I can’t help but wonder how Kenya will position itself in the global realignment. Some of these "Tiger economies" will face tough times, yet Kenya has an abundance of skilled labour, land, and relative stability. We could capitalise on this shift, particularly in manufacturing. However, high energy costs and poor leadership remain significant obstacles.

I’m not sure how best to expand on this, but a recent purchase gave me something to think about—I bought a phone manufactured in Vietnam, owned by a South Korean firm, and no longer assembled in China. This shift happened because China’s growing middle class has moved away from low-wage assembly jobs.

Anyway, let’s see how this situation unfolds.

Canada wanasema aje?
New PM stated the facts as they are. That their closest ally and friend for many years decided to stab them in the back and not only that, that Trump intimates that Canada should be 🇺🇸 51st state, which is utterly ridiculous and that they're gonna put Canada first. No more nice neighbourly love. Canadians have followed suit.

It's a circus but what should the world expect, apart from a circus when the world's most powerful person is a clown.

What is this ?
Kile @DeepInYourMind atasema 😅
Knowing you are a birrionea , niuzie the s24 that you have retired in favour of the new S series unit .
I actually only buy outgoing series or devices and with how good the flagship s are nowadays, a phone should last a minimum of 3 years.

The US survived this man's blunders during his first term. Will it survive this time round? Is he hastening the fall of the US?
The Chinese Yuan could easily replace the dollar if China so wished but they do not want to witness a catastrophic and bloody US collapse. The Chinese want it to be gradual so that everyone can adjust to the new order. Few people appreciate the scope of unjustified technology sanctions placed on China. If more people did, then they would see the West for the hypocrites they are. They only sing globalization because it benefits them more but promptly change tune when the tables are turned.

I do not even get how streamers have become internet sensations but there's a guy called Speed who is young, black and open minded enough that his tour across China is opening many people's eyes as to the insane capabilities and advancements in China. It's only a matter of time before Babylon falls back. Even electric cars from Xistan are way superior to Teslas.

Makes me also wonder the efects these tariffs will have on crucial chips that America needs and which are mostly produced by Taiwan.

The solar energy chain that we are currently enjoying is thanks to China . Even industries are embracing solar to power the equipment during the day at a fraction of what people used to pay with brands like Schneider . Best affordable panels ,inverters and batteries are from China .

Doesn't Tesla manufacture cars in China for the American market?

Yes but the likes of BYD now seem to push out not only x4 the number of units but they're getting better and better especally in terms of range. It actually brings to question how such tariffs will work considering Don's new BFF is Musk. Anyway, Global economics is at times almost a parody though. When you consider how the big entities rely on each other, it becomes comical. Samsung and Sony parts in iPhones as an example.. or how mbirrionaires like Zukabagi and Bezos were chief guests at Drumpf's inauguration.

Do you prefer a military war to a trade war?
