Kenya, not surprisingly, has turned the crisis into a chance to mint money: forced quarantine, extortionary cops, price-gouging, sale of donated items, etc. It has also become an opportunity for Uhuru, Raila and Matiang'i to settle political scores.
Most of the testing seems incidental, not systematic, as if driven by the need to have the robotic CS rattle off some numbers for the daily TV appearance.
Kenya cannot talk of 'opening up'. It has never closed or properly isolated and tested. Those figures have no bearing in reality. How many of your family or friends have been tested?
