The accusations may very well be true but claiming the WHO is a stooge of China is nonsense, all he has done is taken legit issues and framed them like a propagandist would to create a connection that does not exist.
WHO may have floundered, one could say they have been inept and that would look really accurate until you benchmark their performance against those of wealthy sovereign states like the US, the UK and France who with all their resources still got caught flatfooted despite having access to information on the virus amd months to prepare. They looked like amateurs and would score nothing more than a D for their early response. When everyone scores a D it is very unfair to lynch the weakest student because he couldnt score an A.
In essence replacing the WHO leadership is nothing more than a PR exercise to save face, then Trump would tell his citizens he failed because WHO gave him bad info (which he already had any way), that will be his excuse when he gets on the campaign trail when his covid response is questioned.
In short, everybody to take responsibility. WHO misled the world from the advice they got from China. Or how did Taiwan how about the lethality of the virus and China failed to know when they are just neibas? That's all.

It is even laughable when one imagines that the mighty US of A with all it immense intelligence resources was waiting for the WHO bureaucracy to provide it with information to enable it save it's people.

Taiwan did not report lethality, they indicated there was human-to-human transmission but you must note that at the time only China had confirmed cases of the virus, how could WHO possibly consider assertions made by a nation without a single confirmed case of the novel virus credible? There was no evidence to that effect.
Institutions like WHO operate on a policy of abundance of caution, they cannot just make pronouncements without verification and evidence, their credibility rests in their ability to give highly accurate information which can take some time, judge them with that in mind.

Haha, Trump being Trump. In that letter, he's accusing WHO of exactly what he did when the news got to him. This guy will never admit to any wrong doing even though he was caught with his pecker out, and an ailing woman on the ground saying she's been raped. Trump is the kind of of person who would hire a watchman, the watchman says, "Hey boss? The padlock is faulty, please replace it." He ignores the statement. The place gets broken into and things get stolen, the neighbors get to know about it, and he ends up firing the watchman for "failing to do his job". Just to save face.
