Back in the days, growing up is used to see farms after farms growing tobacco.
Eventually, this was replaced with the regional conventional crops_ maize,beans,cowpeas...
Now my point, what happened to this good crop.
I know mastermind and BAT have very lucrative prices for this crop.
What are the insights, reviews, viability ,sustainability, pros n cons,of growing tobacco in kenya

What happened in Zimbabwe?
Tobacco is their highest agricultural earner and for a long time cartels such as the ones we have here for tea and coffee were benefitting at the expense of the farmers but then laws were enacted to change it. Looks like they're doing much better even though many producers are contracted by companies just like our sugar industry.
