Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku will miss their Champions League tie with Real Madrid due to a thigh injury.
The Belgium forward, 27, has scored seven goals in as many matches for the Italian side this season.

Alexis Sanchez has returned to training after sitting out the past three matches, although Inter coach Antonio Conte said it was unlikely the Chile striker would start in Madrid.

Real Madrid defender Eder Militao has tested positive for coronavirus and will miss Tuesday's game.
Real will also be without Nacho, Dani Carvajal and young playmaker Martin Odegaard through injury.

Apart from the shock 1-0 loss to Cadiz on October 17, Real Madrid have not failed to score at home in their last five games at home in all competitions. In three of those games, they have scored two or more goals.
they have conceded at least a goal in four out of the last five games.

Inter Milan have managed to score at least two goals in three of their last five matches in all competitions. One of them was in a 3-2 loss to Sevilla on August 21.
They have also managed two wins, as many draws, and a loss in the aforementioned number of matches.

PREVIOUS MEETINGS
The sides have shared 15 previous fixtures but none since autumn 1998, when they met in their only previous Uefa Champions League contests. Madrid won 2-0 in Spain thanks to goals in the final ten minutes from Fernando Hierro, a penalty, and Clarence Seedorf, before a 3-1 Inter win in Milan sealed by two late Roberto Baggio goals (86, 90). Both clubs were defeated quarterfinalists that season.

Four of the teams' previous ties had come in semifinals, Madrid winning all four on aggregate – including a memorable comeback in the most recent, in the 1985/86 Uefa Cup, when they went down 3-1 away but won 5-1 after extra time at home.

The Spanish side also came out on top in the two previous European Champion Clubs' Cup semifinals between the clubs, and have won five of their six two-legged knockout ties against Inter. At home Madrid's record is W6 L1.

The Nerazzurri, however, can point to a 3-1 success against Madrid in the 1964 European Cup final, Sandro Mazzola scoring twice in Vienna to give Inter the trophy for the first time.

Defender Joel Matip and midfielder Naby Keita face late fitness tests before Liverpool's Champions League game at Atalanta on Tuesday (20:00 GMT).
The pair trained on Sunday, but midfielder Thiago Alcantara was absent as he recovers from a knee injury.

Atalanta are missing out on the services of a host of key players, especially in the defensive unit, where Mattia Caldara and Robin Gosens have not been included in the squad.
The absence of Caldara, in particular, means head coach Gian Piero Gasperini could continue with the back three of Rafael Toloi, Berat Djimsiti and Cristina Romero, although Jose Luis Palomino is a potential alternative.

This will be Liverpool's first European match against the Italian side and Klopp is expecting a tough game.
"They obviously have a really good atmosphere, a good mood and are a proper fighting unit," said the German.
"They are very well organised; play their system with 100% conviction, they know exactly what everybody has to do.

Games to look out for

1604503655369.png

Zenit St Petersburg come into this clash having lost three of their last four matches. That includes defeats in their two UEFA Champions League matches.
The hosts will have to make do without the services of 23-year-old attacker Malcom for this clash. Forward Sardar Azmoun is a fitness doubt ahead of Lazio's visit.

Lazio are unbeaten in their last four matches in all competitions with three wins and a draw. They began their UEFA Champions League journey with a 3-1 home win over Borussia Dortmund before winning 2-1 on home soil against Bologna in Serie A.

Forward Ciro Immobile should return after starring off the bench at the weekend. Versatile attacker Luis Alberto and defender Stefan Radu will both miss this encounter through injury.
There are doubts over winger Manuel Lazzari and midfielder Lucas Leiva, they will undergo fitness tests ahead of kick off.

This is a rematch of one of last season’s semi-finals which PSG won 3-0. A draw would keep both sides in contention ahead of the rematch in three week

The Bundesliga outfit are without Marcel Halstenberg, Fabrice Hartmann, Lucas Klostermann and Konrad Laimer, meaning Julian Nagelsmann may have some shuffling to do ahead of Wednesday.

PSG have plenty of high-profile absences with Kylian Mbappe, Mauro Icardi, Leandro Paredes, Marco Verratti, Julian Draxler, Neymar, Juan Bernat and Alexandre Letellier all out, whilst Angel Di Maria is doubtful.

Nagelsmann’s men have not kept a clean sheet in any of their last three matches and confidence may be low after that 5-0 drubbing by Man United was followed up with a 1-0 defeat at Borussia Monchengladbach at the weekend.

RB Leipzig vs PSG: Match Stats

Opta Facts
  • RB Leipzig and Paris SG will meet for the second time in European competition, with this game coming just 78 days after they met in the semi-final of last season’s UEFA Champions League (0-3 win for Paris SG).
  • RB Leipzig have only won one of their previous five games against French opponents in the UEFA Champions League (D2 L2), going winless in three games since they beat Monaco 4-1 in the 2017/18 group stage.
  • None of the previous 14 games between Paris SG and German opponents in the European Cup/UEFA Champions League have ever ended in a draw, with Paris SG winning nine of those games (five defeats).
  • RB Leipzig suffered a 5-0 defeat of MD2 of the UEFA Champions League versus Manchester United, their heaviest ever European defeat and heaviest suffered in the Champions League group stage by a German team since FC Schalke 04 lost 5-0 to Chelsea in 2014.
  • Paris SG have won nine of their last 14 away UEFA Champions League group stage matches (D3 L2) and are unbeaten in their last six (W4 D2).
  • Although they have lost six of their 18 UEFA Champions League matches, RB Leipzig are yet to lose in consecutive games in the competition. They last lost in consecutive matches in major UEFA European competition in November 2018 in the Europa League.
  • The only previous instance of two German managers facing in a UEFA Champions League match and the away side winning was back in March 1999, when Ottmar Hitzfeld led Bayern Munich to a 4-0 win at Kaiserslautern, then managed by Otto Rehhagel. The home manager has won seven of the eight meetings since (D1, excludes neutral venues).
  • In last season’s UEFA Champions League semi-final between RB Leipzig and Paris SG, Ángel Di María was directly involved in all three of his side’s goals in the 3-0 win – scoring one and providing an assist for both Marquinhos and Juan Bernat.
  • RB Leipzig midfielder Kevin Kampl has completed 66 of his 67 passes in this season’s UEFA Champions League (98.5%), the best ratio of any of the 299 players to attempt at least 50 passes this season; Kampl hasn’t misplaced any of his 28 passes in the opposition half.
  • Since his first away UEFA Champions League start in February 2017, Paris SG’s Kylian Mbappé has been directly involved in 22 away goals in the competition (14 goals, 8 assists), more than any other player.

It's funny how most European clubs have majority black players.
wonder how big a continent we would be in the sporting world if we had the right infrastructure, support....

wonder how big a continent we would be in the sporting world if we had the right infrastructure, support....
I've been watching Manchester City's All or Nothing series and it had me realize that the kind of equipment and support at such a team's disposal keeps our local clubs and sadly even national teams at a big disadvantage...

Arsenal will be aiming to make it three wins in a row across all competitions when they play hosts to Norwegian outfit Molde in the UEFA Europa League.

Arsenal are currently sitting atop Group B in the Europa League with six points from two matches, having beaten Rapid Wien 2-1 in their opener, before defeating Dundalk 3-0 last week.

Molde, too, have collected six points from their two matches in Europe having beaten Dundalk 2-1 and Rapid Wien 1-0 and are behind Arsenal in the standings due to a poorer goal difference.

This will be the first-ever meeting between the two teams in any competition. And ahead of what promises to be a fascinating encounter, The Hard Tackle takes a closer look at both the teams.

Key Stats
  • This will be the first time ever that Arsenal will be facing off against Molde. The North London giants have won three of their four previous meetings against Norwegian opponents (D1).
  • The Gunners’ last encounter against a Norwegian outfit came in the UEFA Champions League in December 2004, when they beat Rosenborg 5-1.
  • On the other hand, this will be Molde’s first-ever meeting against an English opponent. Norwegian sides have never beaten a club from England away from home in 22 attempts till date (D2 L20).
  • Since the start of the 2018/19 UEFA Europa League campaign, Arsenal skipper Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has scored 12 goals. Only Munas Dabbur (13) has bettered his tally during this period.
  • Molde have won four of their last six away matches in the UEFA Europa League (D1 L1).

will Ole's former team hand Arsenal a surprise defeat?

Let's meet on the 24th after the International break for the start of the last 3 games of the group stages. who will qualify for the last 16/32, who will be relegated to the Europa League, or will be eliminated from both competitions?
will teams be without key players due to injury from the international assignment, will others be out due to COVID 19 isolation?
