I don't think Uhuru set out to stay in power. The problem is the family's realization that no current leader is beholden to their father and the nation is fully aware of who and what they are. Now that coupled by Ruto's lack of political wisdom that Moi had has sort of hardened the kleptomaniac family. Ruto's stupidity just like Raila's and Njonjo's will lead to Kenya having probably another 20years of Moism.
