Americans insist on filling their equipment with as much useless and unproven tech as possible.

As much as everyone hates amriki, underestimating them is anyone serious about taking them cannot afford to do. Before the tech gets to the frontline, it will have undergone years of testing. Ask Japan when they attacked a "neutral" US, only to have the industrial might turned against them. And anyway, not every machine works 100% of the time, that's why there is R&D and maintenance.

Take a look at the F-4, appearing over the skies of Vietnam only to be shot down by Migs. What did they do? Go back to the drawing board and came up with new variants that ruled the skies over Vietnam.

Those lessons went into the F-14 and F-15. No one has ever shot down any of these planes, in spite of Saddam and Gadaffi trying their best. Since then, their missile technology is unmatched. Even the Israelis had to turn to daddy US go develop the Iron Dome.

Ask the Serbs how they shot an F-117 Nighthawk.

No one is underestimating the US but they have not faced a competent adversary on the battlefield since WW2.

We have seen how they have performed in Korea Vietnam Iraq and I'm not impressed.
