Listening to the BBC and apparently, the deadly clash between India and Chinese soldiers did not involve any modern weapons. Ni Kulimana omundu khu mundu.

Because no side wanted to escalate the two sides resorted to hand-to-hand combat, rocks and iron rods. It must have been total mayhem because India says 20 of its soldiers died and tens injured, and they suspect a similar number or more on the Chinese sides.

Rocks and iron bars, the weapons of choice of two nuclear-armed enemies.

And I thought I had seen/heard everything... ha ha ha!

There is a twitter thread explaining the loss of life.

Apparently the chinese had refused to move their camp as had been agreed to in a de-escalation meeting. The Indian CO went to the camp to ask the Chinese to move. Hapo ndio walianza kupokea kichapo. The chinese waliweka barbed wire kwa baseball bat.

While some Indians were running back to the safety of their camp, they fell into an icy ravine. Those are the ones who make up a big number of the dead.

India has began moving tanks to the area.
