The OHMS plates

O.H.M.S. stands for "On Her Majesty's Service" (or "On His Majesty's Service",During the British colonial era, vehicles assigned to government operations, colonial police, and top-ranking administrators across parts of the British Empire (such as Canada, Australia, and Kenya) did not use standard civilian license plates. Instead, they were fitted with official black plates featuring the letter designation OHMS.

After these countries achieved independence, the number plates were phased out. For example, in Kenya, OHMS plates on government vehicles were systematically replaced by the GK (Government of Kenya) plate format.
