Insects are plagued with some shitty parasites, its a parasitic world all the way down.
This fungus called cordycep, it propagates via insects, once a spore lands on an insect, it grows on its live body, killing it, feeding on it till it matures and releases more spores
There is a hairworm(nematomorpha) that infects crickets, it controls the insects brain such that when its ready to leave the insects body, the insect committs suicide by throwing itself in water. Then the hairworms tokelezeas to lay lay eggs and the cycle repeats
