A photo of Florence Wanjiku
Meet Florence Wanjiku, a co-director of a land-selling company in Nakuru and a devoted mother of two children, aged 10 and 2. Florence's journey took a dramatic turn when she entered a relationship with Elias Njeru. Their partnership extended beyond personal realms into the professional, leading them to invest in and open a business together. They even welcomed a child two years ago. However, things started to fall apart when Elias failed to pay Florence her dues, causing tension and leading to the end of their relationship.
Last year, during a trip from Nakuru to Nairobi, Florence was abruptly accosted and arrested by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI). She was accused of stealing the company car she was driving. Florence spent a weekend in jail with her one-year-old baby until Elias intervened and secured her release. Their relationship deteriorated further as Florence distanced herself, avoiding the office. Despite this, Elias continued to show up unannounced at her home, demanding to see her or the baby.
Last night, in an attempt to reach a co-parenting agreement, Florence and Elias met and parted ways amicably. Tragically, Florence's ordeal was far from over. Upon arriving at her apartment gate, she was violently attacked, struck on the head, and stabbed multiple times. While shielding herself, she sustained severe injuries to her arm, and some of her fingers were severed.

The quick response of a watchman saved Florence's life, and she was rushed to the hospital. Elias later arrived at the hospital, wearing a blood-splattered shirt and demanding to see Florence. Fortunately, the hospital staff, forewarned, denied him access.
Elias then showed up at Florence's apartment, threatening to take their child or harm them both. Neighbors intervened and chased him away. Meanwhile, Florence's relatives faced difficulties reporting the incident, with three police stations claiming it was out of their jurisdiction. The case is now being handled by Menengai West Police Station. Elias Njeru remains free, boasting about his connections and asserting that he will face no consequences.
