Best example was when Covid started in 2020.
The West and the East were busy formulating plans while Kenya was just waiting, letting in Chinese from Wuhan and scheming how they are going to defraud the people. (KEMSA scandal and the several millions that Uhunye borrowed during that period)
Now that the money was gone and Covid was spreading, the government panicked.
Wakajiuliza, what's a cost free (to them at least) thing we can do to calm the plebs while we wait for America/Europe/Asia to come up with a solution?

Which's was a disaster for a majority of Kenyans who are day laborer's and participate in the gig economy.
The lockdown stayed for so long until the government started to get worried.
Alot of murmurs on the streets. People were getting restless.
So, the same government removed the lockdown it had imposed and did so as though they were the great liberators.
