The Fruits of Devolution

Kang'ata is making other political in this country look like clowns. You go through his Twitter (I still refuse to call it X, sue me) and marvel at the posts he makes daily, usually several and 90% regarding development. Funny enough, that's just a man doing his job and not that he's very special. The bar for politicians in this country is so low.

Every other time, we are reminded that all is not lost in Kenya regarding good leadership.

Many are times that those who are performing in their mandate are overtaken by the loud buffoons that occupy the attention of both the media and our collective consciousness.

I actually believe that we have just as many good leaders as we have the rotten bunch.

Case in point are leaders such as Maraga, Kivutha, Okiya, Lesuuda and others in the judiciary, gubernatorial, senate, and legislature, respectively.

Now, Kang'ata seems to be one interesting fella that perhaps we need to pay more attention...

Very good performer. This is why devolution should be enhanced so that development goes closer to the people. With proper devolution, tribalism in national government becomes a thing of the past and elections cease to become a do or die affair.
