I have an issue with my lappy for a week now.

It automatically updated then the touchpad started having some issues. Then I thought of downloading and installing some touchpad drivers. Kumbe ndio nilijiingiza kwa ngori.

Now, the touchpad and keypad ain't working. Tried the external ones ain't working except the procedure ya kuingia Troubleshooting and safe-mode that's when the mouse & touchpad work.

When it goes to Safe-Mode, they don't respond. (Keypad and Touchpad)

I've googled, followed all the known processes but nimeshindwa. Saidieni.

If it allows you kuingia safe mode then it’s not a hardware problem, I’d say you format it

I did that several times when the keys and mouse were working. But now I can't type or select anything with the mouse.

Inakaa Acer Aspire.. Grab a wired mouse, enda device manager and Uninstall that TouchPad device by right clicking choose remove device and make sure your also put a tick on that check box(as it will also remove the software/drivers) and restart your pc.

Let me know if that works.

F7 on you keyboard disables touchpad , try to FN + F7 to toggle the state of the touchpad.

It's like this.....The external mouse is not working. I had to buy a new one just in case , but didn't work either. External keypad not working either.

It's only working in the Advanced Options menus.

I wish I had done that. I downloaded from the Acer's website. That's where I messed things up.

Using another pc download Ubuntu and create a live usb drive.This way you will be able to boot and know if the problem is hardware or software .You might rush to format the hard drive but find the issue is hardware or you replace the keyboard and touch only to find it's software based .
