Safaricom has reduced M-PESA business charges by up to 50%, effective August 1.

Pochi la Biashara (Aug. 1 – Oct. 31, 2026)
Customers paying up to Sh200 to a Pochi la Biashara till will now pay ZERO transaction fees.
New customer charges:
Sh1–200 → FREE
Sh201–500 → Sh7
Sh501–1,000 → Sh13
Sh1,001–1,500 → Sh23
Sh1,501–2,500 → Sh33
Sh2,501–250,000 → Sh50
Lipa na M-PESA Buy Goods (Effective Aug. 7, 2026)
Businesses using Buy Goods will now receive FREE collections up to Sh500, up from the previous Sh200.
New charges:
Sh0–500 → FREE
Sh501–36,363 → 0.55%
Above Sh36,363 → Maximum fee of Sh200
Business Till → M-PESA (Pay to Mobile)
Businesses transferring money from their Till to an M-PESA account will now pay up to 50% less.
Examples:
Sh500: Sh7 → Sh4
Sh1,000: Sh13 → Sh7
Sh2,500: Sh33 → Sh17
Sh5,000: Sh57 → Sh29
Sh10,000: Sh90 → Sh45
Sh45,000–250,000: Sh108 → Sh54
Business Till → PayBill
Transfers from Business Till to PayBills have also been reduced.
Examples:
Sh500: Sh5 → Sh3
Sh1,000: Sh10 → Sh5
Sh2,500: Sh20 → Sh10
Sh5,000: Sh34 → Sh17
Sh10,000: Sh48 → Sh24
Sh45,000–250,000: Sh108 → Sh54

According to Safaricom, the revised tariffs are aligned with the Central Bank of Kenya's pricing principles on customer centricity, transparency, fairness, competition and affordability.
